NOVEL & DIVERSE FEEDSTOCKS
Explore bioethanol opportunities in commercial green waste, separately collected household garden waste and diverse carbohydrate-rich side streams.
Request free enzyme samples ↗Grass clippings, leaves, hedge trimmings and woody prunings differ substantially in composition and accessibility. Commercial landscaping waste and separately collected household green waste should be sampled representatively before selecting enzymes. Collection method, storage and seasonal changes also matter.
Suitable segregated food manufacturing by-products, fibre-rich process residues and emerging biomass may contain recoverable starch, cellulose or hemicellulose. Novel feedstocks are an application category, not a third generation of bioethanol. Whether a stream fits a starch-based or cellulosic route depends on its composition.
Agree representative sampling and the relevant solids and carbohydrate analysis scope. Identify contamination concerns before screening.
Compare amylase, cellulase, hemicellulase or complementary blends against appropriate controls under agreed conditions.
Assess sugar release and fermentation compatibility, then calculate enzyme cost on a consistent feedstock basis.
Mixed waste can contain plastics, grit, metals or inhibitory substances. Enzymes do not remove these contaminants. Discuss sorting, pretreatment and sample handling before sending material. Suitability for ethanol production needs to be established experimentally; we do not assume every organic waste stream is fermentable.
Tell us the source, typical composition, pretreatment, process conditions and available volume. Request free enzyme samples for a suitable trial, or enquire about our separately quoted feedstock analysis service. Bulk liquid enzyme blends are available with fast international delivery.

| Feedstock | S&T enzymes to discuss | Trial focus |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial / household green waste | Plant Max Yield Pro ↗ · Cellulase ↗ · β-Glucosidase ↗ · Xylanase ↗ · Feruloyl esterase (FAE) ↗ | Accessible cellulose and hemicellulose; seasonal composition and lignified fractions. |
| Starch-rich food residues | High-temperature α-amylase ↗ · Glucoamylase ↗ · Pullulanase ↗ | Starch conversion; assess protein and fibre activities only where composition supports them. |
| Mixed / emerging biomass | Cellulose Max Yield Pro ↗ · Xylanase ↗ · Feruloyl esterase (FAE) ↗ · Laccase ↗ | Screen carbohydrate release and any separate phenolic treatment; no fixed blend assumed. |
These are candidate activities for screening, not a fixed recipe. Bespoke cellulase and accessory-enzyme blends can be tailored to the material. Bulk blend supply options are quoted separately from the retail catalogue formats.
Feruloyl esterase targets ferulate ester linkages and can complement xylanase on suitable plant materials. Laccase acts on phenolic substrates and requires oxygen; assess it as a separate treatment where useful. It is not a universal lignin-removal enzyme, and its effect on fermentation inhibitors must be measured.
